STUDENT LIFE AT ACMF

Picture
ACMF students spend their days in intensive rehearsals with inspiring coaches and other motivated young musicians. In the evenings, they participate in recreational activities, such as ice cream parties, trivia and movie nights, sports, and faculty concerts. A typical day for an ACMF student might look something like this:

8:00-9:00 a.m. - Breakfast

9:00-10:00 a.m. - Studio Class
10:00-11:00 a.m. - Chamber Group Rehearsals
11:00-12:00 p.m. - Orchestra Rehearsal
12:00-1:00 p.m. - Lunch
1:00-2:00 p.m. - Practice/Free Time
2:00-3:00 p.m. - Musicianship/Electives
3:00-4:00 p.m. - Orchestra Sectionals
4:00-5:00 p.m. - Chamber Group Rehearsals
5:00-6:00 p.m. - Masterclasses/Practice/Free Time
6:00-7:00 p.m. - Dinner
7:00-10:00 p.m. - Evening Activities
RESIDENCE LIFE
Students reside in Hopkins, Smith, and Thomas Halls (Complex) on the Emory University campus. They are placed in double occupancy rooms (single occupancy rooms are available for students with need or strong desire for an additional fee). Each hall is populated by a small group of students and their assigned counselor. Complex has well appointed rooms and plentiful cozy common spaces for hanging out or practicing.

DINING
Students dine at Dobbs Common Table, where they have a large selection of freshly prepared foods. Counselors are available to walk students to and from the dining hall between rehearsals and activities.
